Battle Re-enacment Returns in 2024

Picture
The Friends of Crysler's Farm Battlefield, in partnership with the St. Lawrence Parks Commission, will be hosting their biannual 1812 Battle Re-enactment in the summer of 2024. It is scheduled for Saturday July 6th and Sunday July 7th.
The objective of the Friends of Crysler’s Farm Battlefield War of 1812-14 Re-enactment is to create an experience that both educates and engages the imagination of the public. We do so by offering a learning experience in the form of living theatre, in which the public can for a few hours step back in time. This while offering a safe and entertaining arena for the War of 1812-14 re-enactment community to practice their craft. It is hoped that all re-enactors who participate in this event will do so in a spirit of camaraderie and good will. Knowing that they are in fact guarding the memory of those who fought and fell from being lost to the passage of time.
Please join us for this special weekend!
Registration:
In order to comply with St. Lawrence Parks Commission regulations, all participants military, sutler, and extended camp members must register on-site at the Administration Tent as soon as is convenient. This includes participants who have registered on-line. No re-enactor having not registered on-site will be allowed on the field.
Camps and Food Services:
Set up may commence on Friday with volunteers on site.
Camps will be laid out prior to set up. For conformity of the site, please follow the set up guides. As the public is allowed to experience the camps, this allows for a natural flow. In the event of an emergency, a well set up camp allows unhindered admittance of emergency crews.
Firewood will be provided curtesy of Upper Canada Village for the weekend.
Fire pits are permitted. Weather related fire restrictions may be in place.
Public washrooms are on site all weekend.
Food:
In order to assist in planning, it is asked as this is a catered event, that everyone wishing to partake in meals, register no later than one week in advance.
Meals will include 2 continental breakfasts as well as dinner on Saturday evening.
Canteen service will be on site all weekend, courtesy of the Morrisburg Lions Club.
Potable water and ice will be available as well.
Battles and Demonstrations:
The weekend will include two tactical events. One each Saturday and Sunday.
Other events may be added to the program. We are open to those suggestions that will enhance both the public and re-enactor experience.
It should be noted that free admission to Upper Canada Village is granted to participants in period costume.
